Bonus Mathematics
The welcome bonus typically offers a 100% match up to €500 plus 50 free spins. Here is a detailed calculation of the expected value using the wagering requirement formula.
Important: Wagering requirements apply before any withdrawal. For example, a 100% bonus up to €100 with 35x wagering on bonus + deposit amount.
Assume you deposit €100 and receive a €100 bonus (balance = €200). Wagering requirement = 35 × (€100 deposit + €100 bonus) = 35 × €200 = €7,000. If the game contribution is 100% for slots (except low RTP ones), you need to wager €7,000. The house edge for a typical slot is 3% (RTP 97%). Expected loss = €7,000 × 0.03 = €210. Since you have €200 in bonus funds, expected value (EV) = €200 – €210 = -€10 (negative EV). However, if the bonus also includes free spins, those can add value. Always check the maximum bet allowed during wagering (often €5).
Example with free spins: 50 free spins on Starburst, each spin value €0.10, total free spin value = €5. Wagering on free spin winnings is usually 35x. If you win €5 from free spins, wagering = €5 × 35 = €175. The overall EV improves if you consider the free spins separately. Use the formula: EV = (bonus amount × (1 – house edge)^(wagering / bet size)) – (deposit). For practical purposes, only take bonuses with low wagering (≤30x) and high RTP slots.
Table summarizing typical bonus conditions:
| Bonus Type | Match % | Max Bonus | Wagering Requirement | Game Contribution |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Welcome | 100% | €500 | 35x (D+B) | Slots 100%, table games 10% |
| Reload | 50% | €200 | 30x (B) | Slots 100%, live casino 5% |
| Free Spins | – | 50 spins | 35x winnings | Only specific slots |
